| Sirs, I have researched your site many times and found it to be exciting.
My father was in the 9th with the 488th ASG. I have tried to use the links
for research on his military history but to no avail. Are their any plans
to add Service Organizations to this site? He was in the 2487th QM truck
company and I would appreciate any information that I can obtain on the
unit. He has 5 battle stars and I would like very much to document his
history for his grand children as well as his two sons'.
Thank you very much Ron Sherrill sherrill@apex.net After the liberation of Belgium(WW II) some Belgian young men were incorporated in the 9th US Air Force for M.P. duty on airbases in the E.T.O.. I am seeking American veterans remembering this and willing to renew memories In 1945, I was serving Furth(Germany) with 1194th M.P. company. Fursten-Feldbruck, 7th Depot Repair Sqdn. Thanks beforehand Arthur Van Acker(age83) U.R.L. arthur.vanacker@tiscali.be
Francis(Brick)Brown said if I looked up the 9th AF I can get a photo of
him and his B-26 named the Taconite Express. Can you help me get the
photo he mentioned? I am a WW II veteran. I was with the 9th in Rrouye France in late december 1944 flying B26 martin mauraders. In 194 we were transferred to the 422 in Belgium where we were stood down because Gen Patton was moving so fast across Germany. From there we went to Venio Holland, then w went to Kitzingern Germany. From there I went to Leharve France and shipped home for discharge. Would enjoy hearing from anyone of that time. Sincerely. Floyd Mauth Seeking more data on my dad's (Floyd Leonard Sibel, Sr.) WW II service.
Can provide details of his service if it would help you recognize him. I
have little memorabilia to share: his Bronze Star(no V) orders, a Easter
Ch service program from England (CO Brereton). If he was involved in the
lost bomber in desert (Libya?) or Ploesti debacle or any other "bad news",
I would want uncensored "warts and all" honesty. I like the
9th Air Force Association page very much. My father, Edward Munge, flew a
B26 in the 450 Bombardment Squadron of the 322nd Bombardment Group out of
Great Sailing, England during 1944. I am looking for a source of the
General Orders that would have been issued for this group during mid to
late 1944. My father kept some, but there are others that are missing. Do
you know where I could find copies of these documents? |
